WHO IS HOLLOWKID :
HollowKid is a London based band creating original music that blends folk, blues and rock with a soulful edge. At the heart of the songwriting is Brendan Cagney, the rhythm guitarist whose ideas shape much of the band's sound and direction, alongside contributions in writing and composition from Sidney Busby and lead guitarist Eddie.
On bass, Nick Birch brings the grooves, big ideas, a strong sense of management and, just as importantly, the car that keeps things moving. Lead guitarist Edward Bateson, also known as Eddie, delivers mesmerising solos that nod to glam rock and the spirit of Slash, adding that extra lift to the live sound. Dan the man on drums, a full metal head playing across multiple bands, brings precision, power and sharp musical instincts to every track.
The newest addition, Catarina Vergari, adds rich layers and backing vocals, a professionally trained performer currently studying at ICMP, where the band is closely connected. Fronting it all is Sidney Busby, vocalist and performer, also studying Performance BA at ICMP, known for going all in on stage and building a real connection with the audience.
Together, HollowKid is a group of distinct personalities coming together to create something honest, dynamic and very much alive.

HOW DID WE MEET:
HollowKid came together in a way that really was not planned at all. Eddie had been going to open jam nights at MAP Studio Cafe in Kentish Town for a while, just playing, meeting people and being part of the scene. At some point he met Brendan, and the two of them started making music together. Eddie then brought Brendan along to the same jam nights, where everything slowly started to take shape.
In between all of that, Eddie had seen Sidney perform at the jam and knew straight away he wanted her as a singer, despite not knowing her at all. He started asking around for her name and number, determined to find out who she was. Through a mutual friend, Alex Pink, who runs Songs and Stories with Sidney at the same venue, he managed to get in touch and gave her a call out of the blue.
The timing could not have been better. Sidney had been looking for the right people to create with, so when Eddie reached out she said yes straight away. When the three of them first played together it clicked, and they knew they had something real.
Nick on bass and Dan on drums soon joined, with Catarina Vergari later adding backing vocals after Sidney heard her at ICMP. Since then, HollowKid have been playing shows across London, including with Hot Vox, and are currently in the semi final of the New Blood competition.
